LICADHO (Cambodian league for the protection and defense of human rights) has a report on their website dated 2003that says that there are about 1 attack every 25 days a statistic that is probably much bigger as a lot dont get reported. It's a very personal and definately premeditated crime that destroys not only women and men directly involved in the usually domestic dispute but often maims bystanders too including children.Acid is cheap and easy to get here and the perpetrators are often not dealt with by the law. The Cambodia Daily newspaper says the attacks are increasing at an alarming rate and it happens at all levels in society. In 2000 a government ministers wife was accused of burning a karoke singer (her huisbands mistress)with acid. 43% of the victims body was burned and the perpetrator was never arrested now there is not even a warrant out for her. Its pretty nasty stuff alright!!Tanyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13388362742170805414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7955237421825935492.post-44038354701743464472008-12-04T22:09:00.000-08:002008-12-04T22:09:00.000-08:00What a fun treat!I thought of you yesterday as I w...What a fun treat!

I thought of you yesterday as I was getting my haircut.
